So I have verizon DSl on my computer here at home. For the last month or so I have been having problems with connections. every other reboot I have to cycle the modem down and reboot the system to get it to connect.

I've spent about an hour talking to the clowns at support and now they tell me that my modem is not longer under warranty and that I have to buy another. I would rather take this into my own hands and get a "not" verizon modem if possible. now can I buy a modem at a comp store that would work with the verizon system? or would I have to go with their offerings?

Im on the phone with them now so I figure I have another hour or so to find out what the deal is. let me know what my options are. thanks y'all.

Pretty much any DSL modem should work.
Well thats the case in the UK.

I looked on newegg and tigerdirect and they have cable modems but not Dsl modems. I will keep looking.

$20 bucks and he probably still has it.

Other than that.. a few years back when verizon was still giving out internal modems we ended up getting an external 3com from Staples. They were selling that as a "Home Connect" kit which worked with verizon. Might not exist anymore though, so maybe ebay or somewhere.

Another idea since 3com probably won't be under warantee anymore is D-Link.

That's a page to their DSL modem/routers and wireless dsl modems.
