What are The People (being you) listening to?

Right now... I've got the RATM cover of Street Fighting Man on. Good Stuph. Got Renegades, first Rage CD, and Audioslave in the mail today (yes, I actually buy CDs if I really like them. but that don't mean I don't sample em.).

So, what's everybody listening to?

LOL!! Awesome!! I had Rage's Evil Empire in the stereo as I read this thread :D Only CD of theirs I don't have is Renegades, and thats only because I lent it to a friend who forgot to give it back before he moved to orlando :(

I'm a big Sevendust fan. They hooked up with Creed way back when both bands started, and being that Creed is a local band, I've seen Sevendust quite a few times. Got all their CD's.

Same with 311...Music, Grassroots, Blue, Transistor, Soundsystem and From Chaos...have to say Music and Soundsystem are by far my favorites.

Awesome!! Didn't think I'd meet another Rage fan in this forum, especially one who seemed to be more then casually intersted in the band. Cool!!! :super:

Any Stevie Ray Vaughn fans here too????

Beware...shamless plug ahead

Speaking of Stevie Ray Vaughn, if anyone wants to check out a great musician, an old friend of mine Reed Waddle (http://www.reedwaddle.com/main.html) has some samples of his first CD up on his website. Go check him out. Really great stuff!!!!!

Isis - Celestial (4 guitars, and big muddy evil riffs):super:
Squarepusher - Go Plastic! (captain insano drum n' bass with jazz complexity, instead of repetitive layers):bounce:
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless (modern guitar wonderland masterpiece) :smoking2:
and an unsigned band that shoots comets through my head called
Houston.

percussion heaviness and vocal finesse of Tool, added to squirrely guitars with lots of effects a' la Smashing Pumpkins.
In fact they're a lot like SP, but don't feel the need to solo much, and they write songs that ring in under 4 minutes, and don't shave their heads.
Why listen to all this? Because radio sucks everywhere, all the time, non-stop.
I should know, I worked at one as a production manager.
The top 5 people in the pyramid had NO CLUE if a band was good or not. They just watched the playlists of other stations. And i'm sure the other stations watched our playlists. And so on...
corporate sh**head asskissing drones - all of them.
This is why i love WinMX, Kazaa and so on. This is one of the few remaining ways you can come across music without some corporate marketing plan attached to it. How many times have you gone looking for something on those programs to run across something slightly related that looked interesting, and totally made you happy? Only about 200 times for me....yeah.
Gnutella forever.

LOL!!!!!!!!

Yeah well..I've been looking at purchasing a Volvo within the next few months (S60 T5-R) too... I guess I just have an old soul :D

How is the Audioslave CD? Their radio single I am still on the fence about...I don't know, Chris Cornell's voice just doesn't jive well with Tom Morello's crazy style..or maybe I'm still wired to Zach's raps.

Speaking of which, has he released anything yet? I'm itching to see if he can make a serious go at a solo career.

It's different--not as heavy, but Tom Morello is the Second Coming no matter how you slice it... :p

Still haven't listened to all of it though (got it this afternoon, and was trying out Microphone Fiend in my friend's car with the 15... hehehehehe)

--edit--ratm was the greatest cover band in all of history... except MAYBE NIN. but damn, Maggie's Farm and Street Fighting Man kick ass.--/edit--

Just listened to the CD straight through.

Audioslave kicks ass. It's different, but it's at least as good as Rage (doesn't have those entirely crappy annoying songs like Rage sometimes does).

Led Zepp, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Red Hot Chili Peppers are the main things I listern to, others from time to time like NIN, Massive Attack.

Right now, at this very moment, I'm listening to "New Year's Day" by U2. Recently, I've been listening to Max Graham, Tool, Genesis and Oasis.
