Check this out! MSI combined two notebook nV cards and created a PCIe card for a PC :D Kinda cool.

MSI is showing off a unique take on SLI that combines two MXM mobile graphics modules on a single PCI Express x16 card. It's just a prototype, but depending on interest, it could eventually make its way to market.

That thing is huge!

I wonder what type of cooling it will use.

What a cool engineering exercise. It'd be even better if it allowed user-selectable voltages so it could be in low-power mode for 2D/desktop work, then crank it up for gaming.

Sweet! They should do that with the 7800 GTX Go chips :naughty:

captnkill, that is what MXM modules are for, Geforce go GPUs. Now this would be a nice future for graphics. You don't have to change the card all the time, you just buy the gpu for desktops. BTW, did MSI or the site mention how they are going to sell the GPU's since they aren't currently sold through retail channels?

I'm pretty sure that he--and everyone else who read the initial post--is aware that GeFORCE Go chips fall under "mobile graphics chips."

Rather, I think his post was saying that he'd like to see a card with the top-of-the-line mobile chips from nVIDIA be used, rather than, say, a 6800 Go.
