the design looks like 2 sets of 256mb single slot cards put together and they just upped the ram. I wonder if it's just the 7800 gtx's clocked at 256mb speeds rather than the 512 ones. Because the single gpu 512 by itself is two slots where the single gpu 256mb is one. And seem the same length as the 256mb. Doesn't matter, that will kick the snot out of Asus' design. Now, if we can just tell Michael Dell to open his markets to sell his own component parts, hehe.

Just got the email as well. PC Perspective has a little write-up on these direct from CES. These cards are enormous and will consume an enormous amount of power. Better equip your computer with the PC Power and Cooling 1000 watt power supply!

Yeah, thats the killer for me. This thing is crippled because it dosn't have the fastest gaming cpu availible and that would be the Athlon 64 FX-60 dual core. Even if I could afford it I wouldn't get it for that reason.

That thing is serious. Yea, I woulda like to had saw dual FX-60s in there, if thats even possible.

They need to start producing larger motherboards so nvidia can release the deca sli configurations they've been working on...

So, I assume that this is nVidia's next high end part, two 512 GTX's on a single card, this looks to be G71, the die shrink allows is to run without the dual slot cooler.

So what's this gonna cost? I'm thinking little or no more than what a single 512 GTX is retailing for now, maybe $1k, but that's still a better deal than a $750 512 GTX.

First of all...why the hell is your signature in the post like this?

Second...there is no way this thing is going to be less than $1200 MSRP, and I'd guess $1600 for actual retail prices. I cannot be cheap or easy to produce these. Look at the ASUS card was was two 6800GTs...it was like $650. That was more than the price of 2 GTs.

Actually, at the prices Dell is charging, its far from perfect. If you look at the system config options for this XPS 600, it's $1500 to upgrade to dual 512 GTX from dual 256 GTX. That's what I the total I paid for my 512 GTX's.

It looks like the XPS 600 that's comparable to the system in my sig that I built for Christmas is running about 2k more. Heck, Alienware's are running cheaper for the same config.

But the price and it's a Craptel cpu. :(
