I really want encoding though, it would definitely help with getting videos on the PSP.

Not yet. The Cyberlink decoder and the nVidia driver should be here by April, just in time for HD-DVDs release.

Does anyone know if the geforce 6800 agp series will also support H.264 encoding and decoding? I remember the whole thing about the video processor being partially non-working on the 6800 series so WMV couldn't be decoded but I was wondering if anyone knows if the H.264 decoding is also broken?

All 6800 AGP series(NV40/NV45) has broken OVP.

It should work even with cards with a broken OVP since H.264 decoding isn't offloaded to the OVP, but to the pixel shaders for processing. Similar to how ATi does it.
