I was browsing around B3D and found this (apologies if it has already been posted):-

Basically a VRAM/System RAM monitoring facility called Video Memory Watcher was used to calculate what kind of texture memory is being used in current titles. Although the author does state that their findings are to be taken with a pinch of salt, I think it's a nice clarification of how a 512MB frame buffer is put to good use in many situations.

Al I can say is I'm very interested to see how the current gen of video hardware will cope with UT2007 et all...

Gah, they´re testing everything but BF2 ! the only thing I wanted to see hehe..

On the System RAM side I noticed that I had about 2mb free system RAM and 1.09gb Pagefile usage playing BF2 32player map with medium settings and X-Fi Ultra sound option..
cant wait to upgrade to 2x1gb..

Yeah, BF2 eats memory for breakfast. It would've have been nice if the author had included that game in the tests.
