Right now i have just 1 evga n-518 7800gt. I'm fully prepared for SLi, except for the psu, i got the sli bridge and stuff.

But i was wondering, the n-518 on sites like newegg and tigerdirect cost more because it comes with a free motherboard. could i get the n-515 instead, it has all the same specs im pretty sure. i dont need a quick response, i probably wont be doing this for a while. if i can't do that then i may get an MSI, but i rather not have mixed vendors.

shouldn't be a problem....an evga 7800GT is a evga 7800GT ;)

All the evga's 7800GT run about the same If it was mine I would just buy the cheapest evga 7800GT and flash the Bios to the 515 or the one you get.

Isn't BIOS all that matters as far as doing SLi, or does that not even matter now with new drivers?

with the new 8x.xx series drivers, as long as the cores and amount of video ram (ie, cant mix and match 7800gtx and 7800gtx512) are the same, as in both cards have a 7800GT core, then it shouldnt matter what BIOS's or brands or anything. they should be compatible in SLi.
