I have a

Leadtek 6800nu AGP A400tdh with 256 MB onboard ram

Pentium 3.06 HT
1GB rambus ram
80 GB Maxtor HDD

I have reinstalled WINXP SP2 from scratch with latest chipset drivers and intel app acel. (format and reinstall)
Nvidia XP 81.98 drivers

Scenario 1

Not unlocked (12p 5vp)

default volts measured at TP1, TP 10, TP 11

Vcore=1.226 Stable in 2d and 3d running 3dmark05
Vmem=2.500 Stable in 2d adn 3d running 3dmark05

The gpu will clock up to 410 fine. no artifacts.

But the mem only oc till 739.

Then it will artifact if you oc both vcore and vmem.

1. Is the artifacts related to the low mem volts?
2. Is the low OC related to the low mem volts?

3dmark05 score 4788

Scenario 2

Unlocked both pipes and vertex (16p 6 vp) via rivatuner.

Artifacts in 3dmark05 at 325/700mhz

Over volt via bios mod to 1.3 - still artifacts.
Unable to oc - as it fails internal stress tests.

3dmark05 score 4428

DO you think a vmem increase to 2.85 will fix artifacts and low OC of mem.

Ever think that your card is not a good Overclocker? All cards are unique, your never guaranteed a good (or any) OC with any piece of hardware.

IŽd say the artifacts that you see when you run the card unlocked (16/6) are due to faulty pixel quad and/or 6th vertex shader.

Also, try to OC when you have the card @ 12/5 because I noticed when you try to OC an unlocked card (16/6) it doesnŽt even let me raise the stock clock 10mhz on the core or mem, but if I overclock when the card is not unlocked (12/5) to 390/900 and then unlock it to 16/6, its still overclocked at 390/900 and works pretty stable in most games (not all though).

What is the minimum memory voltage for this card?

I see the other posts list 2.75 v as minimum vmem. Is this true?

Also, OCing memory yields almost nothing half the time and from my experience it definitely hurts it pretty badly. One day it'll artifact no matter what, getting worse and worse till it's garbage at default clocks or even underclocked. And what a fun day that is!

My recommendation: Leave ram at default clocks always. Fughettoboutit. :)
