I am looking to get a 939 chip and I will be overclocking and I want to know which one will give me the best chance for getting a good overclock ,I know overclocking is just the luck of the draw,What is the difference between the Opteron chip and the SanDiego chip,I know the Opteron is supposed to be a server processor, but is that the only difference.Plus how much better is the chips with the extra extensions of SSE3 and built on the 90nm process instead of the 130nm chips. I been looking at reviews at newegg and they both seem to overclock good, but I think I am going with the Opteron everyone that has it seems to be able to get 2.8g to over 3gigs.My 3700 A754 is allright it will do 2.7 stable and I like haveing the 12 multipler, but I think even going with the Opteron 148 that has a 11 multipler,I should be able to get a good overclock out of it.

Go with the Opteron. You'll have a higher chance of getting a better luck with the opty. And order from flickerdown.com.
Dave Graham is a great guy to deal with, and usually has the best prices..

It will do 3gigs and it stable but I have to run the vcore at 1.6v and that is higher then I want to go ,so 2.916gig at 1.5v is'nt to bad .these opteron do overclock great .I think spending around $211 on a processor that will do 3gig is better then buying a FX57 for $1,000 because even If I mess this one up I can buy 4 of these compared to one FX57,So I can't complain 2.9gig at 1.5v for $211.
