i played it last night and its superb fun. especially in god mode with disasteres to play with like tornados, asteroids and earthquakes. loads of minute detail too seeing your people flee and cars making a break for it.
BUT i encountered a problem trying to run it first. whenever i went to run the game the game would restart my computer.
after much searching it turns out to be that it dislikes anti aliasing.
so make sure you turn AA of before running the game

Actually, this might solve all of the problems my roommate is having. He had WindowsXP crash, bluescreen on a stop: error, after Simcity4 crashed 2 times. Turns out, after a full windows install over the old windows, that the nVidia drivers were corrupt. He has a Ti4600. I shall inform him of this and hopefully not destroy his system again. THANK YOU!

I noticed that too. I'm not sure, but the engine appears to be voxel, not poly based. That would explain why it doesn't like aa.

This is a real fun game, but I'm having trouble getting started. I've got about 1500 people in my city, but this is my third attempt; in my first two, I went broke pretty quick. I was good at SimCity 2000, but that was a hell of a long time ago.

All I have to say is.....
Wow, that's some detailed graphics.
Oh yeah, I'm having a blast with it too. My town is currently about 8K in the hole and I've already taken out about 50K in loans, LOL.

To make them happy it seems like you have no choice but to bite the bullet and go in debt...that's kinda ****ty.
But otherwise, I'm completely hooked! :D
And my friend had AA on and the system would reboot everytime. :wtf:
Then I pulled my head outta my arse and figured it out.
