Here's a quick qoute from said article:

However, despite this the forthcoming NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS AGP is believed to bring more grunt to your gaming than last years GeForce 6800 Ultra AGP, and we think NVIDIA and its partners should be commended for giving its customers the choice of another upgrade path, which is very likely giving a large part of the market just what it wants.

I know what i'm getting for my birthday. (nana2)

Won't that Athlon XP bottleneck it severely?

Nevertheless, good for NV giving a damn about their loyal AGP users.

Athlon64 3000+(Venice) and 754 board already purchased. Was going to get the 6800GS but now I'll just wait. :D

With the 6800GS AGP at about $225 and the 7800GT PCIe at about $290 I'm guessing the the 7800GS AGP will run about $250. That a little more then I can afford. But it will be worth it.

it looks interesting but i have to wonder at what will happen

in the case of the 6800 GS they had the "easy way out" by just using existing 6800 PCB, and an existing NV40 chip

however there is no existing AGP pcb for a 7800 and no existing native AGP 7800 chip.... i always doubted there would be an AGP 7800 for those reasons...... my guess is that it may be fitted to 6800 Ultra PCB with a bridge chip, or who knows, maybe they went on a new route and redesigned the 7800 pcb for AGP, only time will tell.... that would explain why it took so long to get it out

Sounds like excellent news. As a geforce 6800 NU user (have been for the last year) i'm starting to feel the lag kicking in on games like BF2 and let's not even talk about ut2k7 and oblivion. If this card runs for $200 or less, no doubt i'll be up for buying it.

Yea the 7800GS will be beautiful for AGP users... Maybe I will consider one for the girly ;)
