Modded LDDM INF has been made and uploaded.
Check sig for links.

Next is to modify the Vista/XP INF to get a control panel as well.

Enjoy.

Vista/XP combo INF has been made and you can find it here (http://laptopvideo2go.com/infs/85series/8505inf_lh64/nv4_disp.inf)
Look above for instructions on how to implement it.

I dont understand what you mean by they work. The control panels don't work at all with your modified driver. Try changing the settings and tell me it works. It doesn't work for me at all.

Moreover, NVIDIA isn't support GeForce2 in Vista so I don't know how you get it to work with the Vista pretty aero glass experience. http://www.nvidia.com/page/technology_vista_home.html

Awww I have finally figured out what you are doing mobilenvidia! The XP drivers do run on Vista, but don't run the vista pretty effects. That is a known combination that Micrsoft has talked about and says it works. You need the new LDDM drivers to get pretty vista user effects.

Q: How do the Windows Vista graphics tiers map to the logo?

A. The standard logo is about stability. Windows Vista Display Driver Model (WVDDM) drivers deliver a much more robust driver infrastructure to deliver stability and reliability in a tear-free desktop. The premium logo is about enhanced capability, which includes a composite desktop that uses the Aero-Express or Aero-Glass theme capability.

Microsoft Windows XP Display Driver Model (XPDM) drivers cannot get a Windows Vista logo; however, ultramobile PCs are granted an exception and may ship with previously qualified XPDM drivers until June 2007.

Cheers Jimi for clearing that up.
As I said I couldn't test it with my GPU, so needed someone to confirm it.

No matter those that want a Control panel can use a XP driver and those that want Glass effect but no control panel can use the LDDM.

I wonder if it's possible to switch display drivers on the fly.
XP uses nv4_disp.dll
Vista uses nvd3dum.dll
