First run, gotta go to class and will overclock my cards and update drivers from 81.98 to 82.12 to see if there's any difference.

That is low. 7800gts score something like that.
At their stock speeds (not overclocked by the factory or anything)? My 2nd system doesn't overclock very well so the CPU and XT are both running at stock speeds. I guess that's one of the bad things about buying one of the first XTs and also buying an ATI brand instead of one of the 3rd party ones. I'm currently trying to overclock it again though to see if I can improve the score a little.
Edit: 9013 after upping the CPU to 2.8ghz. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=3675
Edit 2: Overclocked the XT to 675/780 and got 3883. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=3744

n1 OWA!!
Will you upgrade to 2 G71?
n1 OWA!!
Will you upgrade to 2 G71?
I'm not sure. I'm going to try to wait until the card for Vista is released. If the G71 ends up being a lot faster or adds some really desirable feature and everyone here is getting them, I may buckle and end up getting them. I'm hoping I'll excerise enough self-control not to though. :)

looks like this guy is cpu bound bigtime. i noticed they said they added physics and ai simulations to the benchmark. that probobly has a lot to do w/ it.

I'd be intrested in seeing how this runs on a system with an AGEIA PhysX card in it since it looks like this new test supports it.

X1900XT. :wong:
Not quite - Radeon X1800 in this case was benchmarked at 594MHz and has 16 pixel/shader pipes and GeForce 7800 in this case was a 550MHz part with 24 pipes, so we have a fillrate/shader-rate of 9504 of the Radeon to go against the 13200 (shader-rate - 16ROPs) of the GeForce 7800.
Radeon's shader-rate is 72% of GeForce's,
yet the 3DMark06 score of the X1800 is 76% of the score of GeForce 7800 GTX 512 - how's that for a comparison? ;-)
3Dmark reports the 2D speed often times, 594 is the X1800XT 2D throttle mode

They bring out new ones to make us "think" we need to upgrade. :D
Even a 6800U scores low and it's a fine card even today.
Just managed to break 5k. (nana2)

Edit: X1800XT updated score, this time using the Cat 6.1s
XT is at 675/780, CPU at 2.52, Cat 6.1 = 3935
Edit 2: Just can't seem to break 4k with the X1800XT.
CPU at 2.58, XT at 675/785 = 3964

Edit 3: Doesn't look good for me breaking 4k with the X1800XT. Another attempt, CPU at 2.6, X1800XT at 680/790, score = 3979
