A RAMDAC converts digital signals to analog signals so an analog monitor can display the image, right?
If a LCD is connected with a digital DVI cable, what does the RAMDAC do?

RAMDAC does nothing when a DVI to DVI connection is used.

Could be wrong, to lazy to google.

The analog conversion is generally done by the display in a DVI connection, unless you use DVI-A which is essentially a DVI shaped VGA connection, and thus is not digital.

That is unless you have an all digital display using a digital DVI connection, in which case there is no digital to analog conversion.
