I like the DS but its way to bulky in comparison to how small the games are. I may sell the one I have to get this one.

Ive said it before and will probably continue saying it. First time buyers screwed again by nintendo.

just buying a gameboy = cool.
just buying a gameboy and just finding out a new and better gameboy will come out = screwed.
just buying that even newer gameboy and finding out that a even better gameboy will be coming out = owned

Hmm, so basically it's exactly the same except for a few cosmetic changes? Good, now the old model (which I'd prefer anyway, I hate small handhelds) will come down in price enough for me to get one. Shouldn't take TOO long for it to dip down into the $50 range I hope. I even have a few GBA games left over from when I sold my GBA that I could play on it.

Hell if it hits $50 bucks soon I'll get one for my little sister. I think it'll most likely hit $79.99 during this year.

Hell ya. I like teh sexy stuff. It's simple and it looks tight, and once more wifi games come out I'll most definately be getting this. They should look into the MMO market on the DS, the thing is like pratically designed for RPGs, that would be AWESOME in my book, a handheld MMO.

I kinda agree with you there. It'd be nice to see Nintendo get something right on their first try, but as a gamer interested in a DS I can't honestly say that an improved version is unwelcome. I never really liked the look of the original DS. I think whether or not Nintendo is "screwing" anyone depends on the price. If the DS lite replaces the DS at the same price its merely an improvement on an existing product and I don't really have a big problem with that. I suppose if I had bought a DS in close proximity to the time of the lite launch, I'd be pretty annoyed.

As far as the GBAs: I don't know of any games that will play on one version but not another. I have an original sp and I honestly don't give a crap about the micro.

lol how am I screwed. My Nintendo DS will play the exact same games the newer one will. How is that screwed? That's like saying I'm screwed because I bought an iPod and now there is an iPod video.

I just think Nintendo for once, should make a design they stick with for more than 8 months. Not that I feel screwed, it just makes them look like they're unable to come to a decision about a design.

I was waiting to see how they would redesign the DS. Been contemplating buying one but I wanted to see the redesign first. I think I'll still get the older one though, my hands are huge.

Some people just need any kind of excuse to blame Nintendo for something.

Yes and some people just have to post to show how much of a Nintendo fanboy they are.

Yes I do. There needs to be some balance to this forum IMO.

We get enough "balance" from the likes of Zelda_fan and Ninjaman09.

I had so many gamewatches and I loved them but I dont remember any of them being able to produce 3D graphics much less color or having a touch screen.

You expect Nintendo to produce a handheld with 3D colored graphics with a touchscreen in 1982?

You think a handheld produced by Nintendo in 2004 with 3D colored graphics with a touchscreen compared to a gamewatch made in 1982 is not innovative or a new idea?

I sure as hell don't think the thing has an innovative design. If Nintendo is so "innovative" then why are they falling back on the design of their Game & Watch line from 1982 for the DS?

Thats like saying the Xbox 360 controller is not innovative because its similar to the S controller when infact its alot more innovative but share a similar design that works. Same thing goes for all controllers, they borrowed from the original nes controller design that works. Either way a argument like that is just rediculous when you look at the technology being used. And have seen a TV or car lately?

Yeah but I don't see Microsoft making statements like Nintendo and their BS "People always talk about Nintendo creating and innovating, and we're always under pressure to create new ideas." line.

Out of the three (Nintendo, Sony and MS), Nintendo is the only one that can make that statement and not be questioned. I wish other companies would take risks like Nintendo because this industry would be light years ahead of what it is now. Nintendo has brought alot of creative and innovative designs and ideas to the table some have worked some have not. Look up R.O.B the robot, the Superscope, light gun, power pad, power glove, virtual Boy, memory card, touch screen for gaming and the list goes on. They even made a printer and a camara for the Gameboy way before every cellphone started sporting one. This new controller Nintendo has for its new system is another example of the truth of that statement. You can say there games and system sucks but do not sit here say they do not live up to that statement. There one of the few left that actually takes risks by innovating and creating. Enough and give credit when its due or atleast read up on some of the things Nintendo and others like Atari and Sega did before you were born because it may impress you or atleast show you where some of the ideas related to gaming and still being used today came from.
