I've seen that this mobo advertised has an onboard GF2. One of my friends ordered the mobo and said he did not know how to use the onboard video. There is no female VGA adapter to plug the monitor into. I haven't seen much specs on this mobo since I'm building an Intel system, but was wondering about the onboard video and that if indeed has one how he would go about using it.

They have been mis-informed as the A7N8X Deluxe doesn't include onboard GF2. It uses the SPP rather than the IGP version of the nForce2 chipset which means it has no onboard VGA.
If it was to have onboard VGA it would be based on the GF4MX core anyway

SPP? So what exactly does it have? He said he had a CMOS setting that let him adjust video memory. Can I get more answers here? I thought this would be a simple question, but from lack of response here it seems no one knows.

Check out the Hexus.net (http://www.hexus.net/review.php?review=429) nForce 2 review for more information about the chipset.
The video memory part is actually to adjust the AGP Apeture for the AGP card. This is for you to set how much system memory you are going to assign to the AGP bus. basically it is for an external card
Heres a review of the Asus nForce2 A7N8X Deluxe review here @ hothardware (http://www.hothardware.com/hh_files/Motherboards/asus_a7n8x_deluxe.shtml)

I see. Oh well, he really didn't need that onboard video anyway. Would have been a nice extra feature to have though. ;)
Currently there are no nForce boards out with intergrated gfx just yet, not alot of people seem to care about them anyway :)

check the website he bought it from as well as yoru friend's recept. If he has any record of them saying the NF2 board has onboard video or a GF2, he may have a right to demand that the company send him a free AGP video card for compensation of false advertising!!! And if the compnay only has newer cards in stock, that could end up being something half-decent. Or you could in turn sell that card on ebay and make some of hismoney back! heh

Well, he wouldn't have used the onboard video anyway. He has a GF4 already. Heh, now he's trying to overclock his processor. I have a feeling he's gonna blow something up. ;)
