Hi...

I must change my gfx card to test some features of my game engine, but it must be agp8x, with p and v shader v3, and with GLSL... also it must supports all major platforms (Win/Mac/Lin - but this is as far as I know true for all nVidia cards... the better linux support for nVidia is the main point I decided that I would search for card replacement there), taking a look at http://nvidia.com/object/geforce6_techspecs.html I decided that the 6200 would be the choice... below 100$ and with all features required...

but then I went to different vendors pages and saw that for example Leadtek page some of 6200 card support ogl2.0 and some 1.5 - for example http://www.leadtek.com.tw/eng/3d_graphic/overview.asp?lineid=1&pronameid=174 that one have ogl1.5 but http://www.leadtek.com.tw/eng/3d_graphic/overview.asp?lineid=1&pronameid=189 that supports 2.0

so - does 6200 support openGL 2.0 or only 1.5? Of full 1.5 and some 2.0? Can someone explain that?

It should support it. I think a X1300 would be better then a 6200 though.

Thanks for answer

I looked around, but AGP version of ati x1300 is very hard to find, only one vendor and no distribution in my country... from ati best agp card aviable in my country I can afforf is 9600XT, do you think it would be better than gf6200?

:edit

Btw: can someone that own a 6200 post there result of running glxinfo? I would be greatfull

A true OpenGL 2.0 built game would be much too taxing on a card like that anyway without substituting features

Your answer lies on this page. Read it.

Stick with NVidia. ATI have crappy OGL driver. Even more SM3.0 features from OGL are not yet supported in latest ATI drivers.

NVidia have more mature drivers with very good GLSL support.

All NV4x & G7x chips have support for OGL2. Note that only 6200 don't have full support for FP textures, but all other features are supported.
