Anyone work on, or KNOW someone that works on guitar amps that does good work?
I have a Marshall DSL401 that i desperately need fixed. I think it's a couple of fried capacitors near the transformer.
I live in the midwest, by the way.

Don't ever buy a Marshall DSL combo...
or for that matter...ANY new marshall...that amp company is owned by Korg (for a while now) and these things are no longer "British Amplification" in any form.
Such a shame. They're slowly turning into Crate.

Try the forums over at Harmony-Central (http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=28) they are amazing when it comes to information on modifications from pedals to amps and all of the above..

That site is visited almost weekly. Great idea for a website, and i use it as much as possible.

me or my dad could fix it, he is certified by Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, Sony, Peavey and a sleugh of others, 45 years of experience. Only prob is that we are in So Cal ;)

EDIT: I'd go to the nearest guitar shop or music store ;)

Well, obviously man...but i thought i'd just make a post here just in case there was someone who reads this that doesn't charge $55 an hour to sodder circuitry like my regular shop does.

unless someone here is very close to the area in which you live or are willing to travel, I would go with the $55/hour service charge. That would be cheaper than shipping the amp back and forth. It doesn't sound like a hard job anyways, I'm sure that with the proper schematics and if you put time aside you could do it yourself ;)
