1.) Is there any way to force GeForceFX 6/7 to render old 16-bit-only games (e.g. Midtown Madness 2) in 32-bit (z-buffer) so the quality is better, because they use 24-bit textures?

2.) And why do "ordinary" GeForceFX's (5800/6800/7800) have a profile in nv4_disp.inf - [nv4_NV3x.SoftwareSettings] with the entry AddReg = Default16BPP_AddReg...

...and all the QuadroFX's have under [nv4_WSApps_NV3x.SoftwareSettings]
AddReg = Default32BPP_AddReg... :bleh:

zbuffer is about the 3d depth, it has nothing to do with texture quality.
a 32 z buffer compared to 16 will get you less depth artifacts *when an object appears before another)

Default desktop resolution is almost always 800x600x16, that's where this comes from.
