View Full Version : Sling Box
I heard about this on TV last night. I doubt that I would ever have any use for it, since I never go anywhere, but some of you might like it. It's a device that allows you to watch your local TV stations from anywhere in the world, using the internet to interconnect.
I doubt this thing will ever get mass market appeal. I mean christ when people travel they usually stay at Hotels. Last I checked they usually have TV's and cable... Who really needs to see their local news anyway, it is mostly worthless.
I would tend to guess that you haven't traveled abroad much. The hotels have TVs, but you have to be able to speak to local language to get anything out of it.

I purchased one and took it back the next day. I then purchased the sony location free with PSP support out of the box. Not only can I watch TV on any PC in the world I can also watch TV on the PSP as long as I have a wireless connection.
This is great for local sports or that TV show the hotel does not carry locally.
The only catch with both products, you can only connect one device at a time. The sony lets me "attach" up to 4 devices but I can only use one at a time.
one word....beyondtv....this is the best peice of software i have ever had the priviledge of using..i have 5 tuner cards in a server at home streaming my tv to myself and coworkers...i can record 4 channels and watch 1 or watch 4 and record one.... fun software to say the least..
