With the built in benchmark what average do you get?

I'm wondering because with my SLI 7800GTs I'm only getting 49fps. Toms VGA charts shows they were getting 73fps with a 2 GTXs, so I don't understand why I'm so slow in comparison when my GTs at 500/1200 have nearly the same performance as 2 GTXs in Doom 3.

49fps is what 2 6800s get according to his chart...

1024x768 max quality 4x/8x

Sounds like a possible profile problem?

Do you have VSync enabled, what SLI mode are you using?

And importantly, what drivers?

running at 1280x1024 with everything maxed and 2xAA/8xAF i get an average of 52 fps. My system is almost exactly the same as yours except I've only a single 7800GT. So yea, seems like your SLI profile isn't working

Turn on the load balancer to see if it shows the SFR line or the AFR bars. If you get the SFR line, it's using the wrong SLI mode. If nothing shows up, SLI isn't working. This is with vsync off though.

Fixed it, it was VSYNC. Turned it off and issue resolved. I never would have thought about that, thanks!

Now it gives me an 87fps average at 1024 4x/8x max w/ no softshadows.

ah that's a nice performance increase, urge to go SLI...rising... :p

I get 49 fps at 1680x1050 high quality, no AA, 4xAF

I get 70 fps at 1680x1050 high quality, no AA, 4xAF

LOL Yeah I can't believe how fast it is now, makes my brand new rig even better than I thought. A lot of places its flying along at over 200fps, with a benchmark average of over 70fps, and that's at 1152x864 4x/16x with everything maxed.

If your someone who doesn't mind tearing without VSync , SLI is great stuff.
On the AFR/AFR2 modes, using VSync isn't quite right yet.
