I have a Gainward U/2400 GF6800GT Golden Sample - expertool has always worked fine with all the menus working. Earlier this week my gfx card went faulty, just one of those things, and I sent it back to the place of purchase and was sent a replacement. When ive put the replacement in it works fine but im now not getting an enhanced mode button in expertool - its as though it isnt recognising the card as a golden sample - although im certain it is a GS. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling expertool, including the version off the CD and the latest version off the web site, also tried removing and reinstalling the gfx card drivers ( 81.98 ) all to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas on this? Is there a special way I need to remove expertool before reinstalling it? I have just been using add / remove programs.

Thanks for any help. System specs are below if needed.

Intel P4 3.2GHZ / 800MHZ FSB

Can you still manually set the clocks in ExperTool?? (ie. not use the button but move the dials).

yes I can manually move the dials round, I havent changed them yet tho but I can move it - its just the enhanced mode button aint there.

anyone got any ideas I can try? I have only uninstalled expertool using control panel. this happened when I put my old card back in when my 6800 GT GS went faulty. Now ive put in my replacement 6800 GT GS in and the enhanced button isnt showing - I can click on the fan speed setting and move the dials around manually but the enhanced mode button aint there.

Thanks

yeah certain - its GS box and even has the same small sticker on the back of the card itself which states "GF 6800 GT 256MB GS " exactly like my other one did

If you have not tried .. I would try uninstalling expertool ... then your nvidia drivers.... use drivercleaner.... then install nvidia drivers and then install expertool. I have switched out drivers all the time on my machine and expertool keeps working for me with the enhanced button. I bet its just confused and holding the settings of your temp video card somehow. Make sure nothing of it is left when you uninstall.

yeah thats probably what it is - can you send me a link for drivercleaner? Is there any specific files I need to look for and take off with regards to expertool or the nvidia drivers? registry entries, etc?

Thanks
