Just splurged{well for my budget anyways} and bought a BFG 7800GT OC and was wondering what the default clocks are for any other owners out there. Mines reporting 400/1Ghz and I was under the impression it's supposed to be 425/1.0Ghz. The BFG website also states that that is what the clock speeds are supposed to be. I sent an e-mail to BFG to see what it's supposed to be. I'm using the 81.98 drivers by the way and also have coolbits3d and powerstrip installed. Great to be back from IRAQ!!!!

Nvidia's reference speeds for the 7800GS are 375MHz GPU clock speed and 1200MHz memory speed. BFG overclocks the card to 400/1250, but you can go much higher from what I've heard. A 480/1350 is very attainable.

My Evga standard version is clocked at 445/1070 and does 500/1200 easy. Evga very good :)

Make sure you are reading the 3-D clock speed, run a game then check with rivatuner!:)

I thought you meant the 7800GS, but you're obviously talking abouy the 7800GT. I'll read the posts more carefully. The reference speeds for the 7800GT are 400MHz GPU and 1GHz memory. BFG overclocks the card to 425/1.05. Many users can get 450+MHz and about 1.2GHz memory. It's a great value for the money as the GT can reach near-7800GTX speeds for a lot less money.

I'm able to see the 3d speed in the control panel and if I'm not mistaken shouldn't that be the speed it ramps up to when you play a game?? That's the way all of my other nvidia cards have been{5950, 6600gt, and 6800gs). I can't understand why this would be different. I can't believe that either BFG or Compusa would screw me like this. Last resort is that maybe I'll have to return the card and get another one.
