I used to get all of my stuff at 3D Gamers, but after they got bought by IGN or Gamespy or whatever they slowy went down hill, and now it's basically just another Fileplanet. Now I'm using Gamershell. Well, I'll be using it until it also turns into another Fileplanet, at least.

filefront here, no account required and alot of hispeed servers to choose from. They do tend to be a little behind in getting new stuff up from time to time tho.

For free sites, I usually use Gamer's Hell, 3DGamers, and WorthPlaying. I'm thinking of getting a subscription though.

3dfiles ;)

No, gamershell is quite quick and free.

filefront - no registration required and it is fast as hell with little to no wait times (I think that I have only had to wait one time to download something from there.)

I don't like gamespy at all. It is next to impossible to find anything, has idjit l33tspeak text all over it (kinda like the MTV of gaming websites,) and you have to wait forever to download anything, unless you want to pay.

No waiting, no signing up, no subscriptions, resumable, and insanely fast speeds most of the time (I've downloaded at over a meg a second from there at my college). The only downside is that they usually only have popular files, and sometimes it takes them a little bit for them to get new files online (usually if a demo or patch is released in the morning, they won't have it until that evening). Aside from that though, it's about the most hassle-free site I've found to download demos and patches from.

3dfiles ;)

I really miss that site :(

3DGmers is my first choice.

This one has a class of its own imo,its the only site I like browsing through its pages and dont feel like hitting the close button when I had my DL started:

Sometimes I turn to this site if all else fails when trying to find a rare file.they were the only ones who had the Matrox Parhelia Tech Demo available for download when I badly neede to DL it... the tech demo still looks very nice.

and ht tp:// (put game's name here).filefront.com for the the latest mods and maps plus demos of famous games.

like http://doom3.filefront.com

Filefront (pirate)

I'm suprised nobody has said http://www.filecloud.com/ There's usually a small wait (a couple minutes for really popular ones) but they have the fastest servers by far.

Yahoo for me is the fastest. Also filefront.
