What is your favorite game from the 90's?

If I have to pick one, I think my favorite game from the 90's is Mortal Kombat for the NES or Sega. We played that thing till our eyes bled. I still like it to this day :) Good times.

NiGHTS into Dreams on the SEGA Saturn.

Then there are too many to list, the 90s was an excellent decade for gaming.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 was the best balance of the crazy new features without going overboard and sequel/remix'tastic as they have done since. IMO

I can't pick just one, so here are a few: the original Need for Speed for DOS, Links 386, Hexen and Carmageddon 2. :D

Hexen is one of the most overlooked games ever

oh where to start?

Battletoads vs. Double Dragon
Gauntlet
Clay Fighter
Primal Rage
House of the Dead series
Resident Evil
Metal Gear Solid
Mario Bros. 3
Mario 64
Blood
Rugby Soccer series
Diablo series
Need for Speed series
Doom
Quake
Virtua Fighter
Tekken

Sorry I couldn't list just one. If I had to choose my favorite out of these... I would still have to choose 3. Quake, Diablo 2, and Virtua Fighter are probably the games I played the most....

Dune II, my first game ever. :) I got the PC for Christmas and played so much during the holidays my eyes turned red. My parents had to take me to the doctor and I had to install a filter on my 14inch monitor to protect my eyes. :p

X-Wing was cool. Challenging. Almost as good as Wing Commander IMO.

Well I loved all of the Phantasy Stars although 3 was kind of a let down. In fact
I bought the GBA collection of PS 1-3 and I still love PS 1 despite it's age. Here is the BIG 2 for me though

Chrono Trigger
Final fantasy 3/6

...wingcom (nice story and ship types(wcI,wcII) but graphics are not true 3d)
Well sure since the riva128 and the voodoo were probably not even out when those games were on the market. ;)

But for a software engine - Wing Commander was awesome. Wing Commander I in particular was pretty much revolutionary.

From 90's? That means no "Garden Wars" or "Jupiter Lander" I guess. I suppose Nethack won't classify either.

Fine, Alien Breed 3D 2.

Or Fallout 2. Or Unreal. Or Zak McKraken -- no, wait, that's from 80's again. Anyway. Too many of them, can't decide.

Unreal and MW2 (although, I can't remember if MW2 came out in the 80s or 90s).

Oh, these are probably older but I really loved 4th and Inches, the Hardball series, and 1 on 1 (Dr. J vs Larry Bird).

I played the hell out of that game and loved every minute of it.
