have a Diamond Media V770 TNT2 board (32M RAM) I downloaded and ran NVchooser.sh and this told me to install

NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.i386.rpm
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.rh73smp.i686.rpm

(I have a dual Pentium-III system)

I modified /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 as suggested and ran startx

X failed to start,
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVdriver kernel module!

lsmod shows that NVdriver is installed and running,

I then tried the src rpms and built/installed those (strangely created i386 files and not i686 files I was expecting), anyway same result - failed to initialize

any suggestions how to get this loaded, I have 2 PC's with TNT boards and it sure would be nice to play quake 3

thanks for your help

Check your linux logfile (for example /var/log/messages) for errors.

When the NVdriver starts up it may spit out a message to a console. This could tell you to 'Assign IRQ to VGA in your BIOS'

do this and all will be well

whooo now for quake3
