I guess the Audigy since it is the most powerful of the cards you listed, but seriously, if you can get another $50 or so, get an X-Fi...it'll blow you away.

Well , after i think about it, i may be able to get an XtremeMusic. It should definitely outperform the audigy. It's $115 at Best buy, and i think i have enough gift cards worth that. Hopefully i can reason with my mom to get this lol sicne i spent over 1k during christmas. plus all it is basically 2 just released games

That sound blaster live 24 bit is cheaper at Wal-Mart, at least around here it is, I just paid 29.87 for mine. This was a big improvement over my 16bit card, but I hope to upgrade even over this one soon as well, but I need more than my creative 4.1 setup first. Good luck and enjoy!

Yeah, that SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit will always have a special place in my heart. What a kickass soundcard.

Whats the difference between the Creative SB Audigy SE 7.1 24-bit and Creative SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit? Trying to find a decent sound card. I was having a look at the audigy 4. The x fi is too expensive for me.

I looked at the differences between them on the Soundblaster.com website and I honestly couldn't see a single one.

Cheers. I'll get the audigy 4 as its quite cheap.

How much is it? I guarantee the X-Fi in the equivalent (or near enough) price range of the Audigy 4 would be vastly superior to it in every way.

Not the oem version here in the UK. The xtrememusic is 40 more expensive.

The Sound Blaster Live 24 bit uses a CA0XXX chipset and is incapable of hardware mixing. This means any time you're playing multiple sounds you're using CPU to provide software mixing. The 24bit is junk and with the somewhat deceptive marketing done by Creative many people have been taken down the lonely road.

yeah? Well it's a hell of a lot better than Realtek 97, that's for sure.

Honestly they're about the same...

Ideally you'll want a card capable of hardware mixing such as the Sound Blaster Live 5.1 which sports the robust EMU10K1 chipset.
