Someone on this forum a few months ago posted a thread about their kt133a chipset putting out some awesome ddr'ish mem perf...

Who was this phantom user? :D

I'd like to know cuz a friend has one, and is keeping it... I almost talked him into just turning it into a server, but he's low on cash, and wants a counterpart to his new ECS sd/ddram mobo...

I've seen plenty o figures for the mem. perf of this mobo, but whatever was posted on this forum by ?somebody? showed mem. bandwidth of like 1600-1800 mbs/sec... usually a kt133a has somewhere around 850-1200...

Anyone remember?

:D

to get a DDR level score with KT133A you would need to heavily overclock your RAM/FSB to about 200MHz. so do that and you'll have your score :D

Um, I know that, silly...;) ;)

but a member here @ nv was getting figures like that and made no mention of exterme cooling... Could be the person just had a real nice BIOS, pc150 (duh, i accidentaly had PC2700 typed in there) RAM, and some unspoken optimizations... Was it you???

i WILL get to the bottom of this...

i would suspect that he used DDR myself. there are some kt133a boards that supported it, no?

Don't know if some kt133a's ran DDR (I know some kt266a's ran sdr), but I thought I remember this person mentioning SDRAM... Ugh, it might be on some other forum... I just want pappacass to not feel quite so much of a perf. gap between his 2 systems (the kt133a and an ECS SiS735)... and if there's a will, there's a way...

this info's somewhere....:|
