Thread topic -

Who actually makes the Reference 7800 GTX?

Since they are reference, I'm not sure who makes them.

I have a pair, so I just wanted to know. I know nVidia is fabless, so other people make ther GPU's.

Thanks!

I know MSI had made some in the past. Don't know if they still do now.

umm a reference card, would actually be a card from nvidia itself, when they send out 7800's, and 6800's they will send out pre-release reference cards.... nvidia never takes them to market, and sometimes evga and msi and other companies will have their own reference cards.... in that respect they all use the reference pcb usually and usually the reference heatsink.... but a true reference card means it comes straight from nvidia

I think it's Foxtron.

That's not the question that was asked. He wants to know who manufactures those pre-production cards.

Exactly. I'm interested in the actual manufacturer of Reference Cards. Considerign that nVidia is fabless, U dobt that they make the cards themselves.

So.

Is it really Foxconn?

I think so, I read it somewhere ages ago.

The lowest bidder
i think thats the correct answer. probably varies from company to company, and the contract is sold to the lowest bidder.
