Thanks.
Well without system specs it's not that informative. But 4389 for a 7800GTX is also kinda low, isn't it? Maybe for a 256MB GTX.

14% is't much if compaired to a 256MB version Generic 430/1200.

dont u love how they made the graph look like the 7900 score is more than double the 7800 score when its really only 600 points higher.....

I would be more interested in AA and AF scores ;)

If you compare to this: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.computerbase.de%2Fart ikel%2Fsoftware%2F2006%2Fbericht_3dmark06_der_perf ormance_report%2F9%2F%23abschnitt_overall_score&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

the score isn't that bad^^

I'm sure I read somewhere that the images were fakes; trying to recall where it was though...

Looks like a photochop to me, but if its real then the performance isnt that good.

Given the specs what did you expect?

specs yes...but personally i would have have expected more innovations etc. Wonder if NV will adopt the more alus per fp approach next time round

What CPU used in the bench ??
idk how true are these info , but i get similar score on a FX-55/X1900XTX (5070 marks). so its not bad if the cpu used was a single core one.

And HDR + AA.

The card can't do AA in 3DM06. :) (no FP HDR + AA)

With Nvidias DX10 part coming in the summer it would be a waste of recources to focus on an "old" architecture.:o

Wouldn't it be in their best interest to hold off the G80 until Vista actually ships? That's why I think both companies have the core refreshes because ETA on Vista seems to be December.

Well March 9 is less than a week away. We'll get more official results then.

That score doesnt seem that great. One of my GTX 512's gets more than that no probs.

Agreed, not impressed at all. We'll see if eVGA or BFG puts out a nice big OC to give it a boost of some kind. If not, I guess I'll be sticking to a new XTX for Spring Break. :p

Or in the space around the time it RTM's and before it ships... AKA the time where Microsoft begins advertizing/marketing the thing, but right before people actually see it.

Then they can cash in on the buzz, have the Christmas buying season themselves, and also can sell on the idea that Vista will need/could use something more then you have now, so buy, buy, buy :D

Depending on how heavy handed an advertizing pitch Microsoft throws on the OS, this could get people thinking "perhaps I should upgrade" in preparation to the system's launch, before they actually know for sure... Yes, perhaps a questionable sales pitch, but then we all know that advertisers are there, for just this purpose...
