I have about this >-< much faith left in the human race at the moment

How in the hell can those people get elected
These guys Nazi nationalists?
I started losing faith in humanity when I started college. This year, the hole in that Bucket o' Faith jumped to abyss proportions. I just want to be a kid again.

For us Yanks that don't hold close tabs on Euro politics, most of us don't know who's what over there.
At least you guys have 5 major parties to choose from, as opposed to the "two" official parties that always run head to head, with a few smatterings of parties that make up the other 5% in the final polls... *sigh*
I can't stand the "you're either liberal or conservative" directive that seems to be ingrained in this country over the last 6 decades.
Once you're outside one of the two official parties, you're considered a swing vote for whoever is leading in the polls in whatever election.
That? That's nothing!
How about this (the insane rantings of an Iranian mullah): http://www.memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sa&ID=SA603
Or this (France inviting mass murderer Robert Mugabe to an African summit): http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/2688005.stm
Or this (A Palestinian soccer tournament named after a mad bomber): http://www.imra.org.il/story.php3?id=15473
My faith in humanity is as solid as ever...I always expect mankind to do the most illogical and self-serving (or sinful, if you prefer) thing possible. And I'm never disappointed!
Cheers,

The BNP is just average bunch of white power tossers.
Their members range from the standard sociopath to the uniformed, over opinionated thug. Unfortuanately amongst their unwashed midst are a few who can string more than two words together and so they can, situation willing, play on the fears and disallusionment of people around them to gain power. Luckily for the rest of the world they are also the most likely candidates to win a darwin award (http://www.darwinawards.com/) and so remove themselves from the, admitedly shallow at their end, gene pool.

"When you are young the world is a sane place with small pockets of insanity, but as you grow older you realise it's an insane world with small pockets of sanity."
-John Cleese
He was so right when he said that.
I lost faith in mankind since ATI merged with nVidia ( see surfmonkey avatar ) :jumping:

Ummmm. You could say that about nigh every politician, everywhere, around the world. I mean, that's what politics is about, playing on the fears and disillusionment of the people (see, for example, the debate in the U.S. about tax policy).

The BNP are winning apathy for one simple reason Asylum seekers... something hardly anybody but the most extreemist of liberals in the UK are fans of... seeking asylum is one thing... but letting in hundreds of thousands of people per year, to live off the money earned by people who go out and work each day is just unfair...
last week i was in croydon on a training course with work, right next to the number one asylum centre in the country and the line was simply staggering.
every day there are hundreds of people coming into britain and living off those who pay tax... and it stinks
its one thing to grant asylum, its another to take all of europes rejects
now the BNP have taken a very hardline stance against asylum and have found an easy route to apathy through hatred of those who "invade a nation"... now to me there is simply no such thing, but on the other hand it is unfair to expect one country to bare all of these asylum seekers... how is the average Tabloid reader to know this?... simply but they're not hence the BNP are doing well amoungst those who hardly ever vote... its sad but true
and whats worse is the fact that anne widdicombe a conservative MP said asylum seekers were going to be a problem 4 years ago... but cheerleader blair doesnt do anything... and now the BNP are growing... i mean really is it any wonder? when you have a government who are more bothered about arpoval ratings that running a country youre bound to screw up

While I do prefer our multi-pary system to the "effectively 2-party" system of the US, I can't help but lose faith in the human race when parties that openly sympathize with Adolf Hitler gain positions in town councils in the southern parts of my country....
We're a democracy.. lets act like we know what we wote for.

I think to sum up sytaylors post I would say, only the complete morons vote for the BNP. They harp on about how badly the government is doing. That is true but voting in a bunch of Nazis will not benefit the country at all.
