The fan on my ASUS X800XL died some time ago i've had a 120mm fan over the top of it for the last 2 months been working fine gets a bit hot recetly has been going into driver fallback mode, but i couldn't really have my PC out of commision for 28days till i get it back. So thismorning i ordered an Geforce 7800GTX 256MB with the 92mm fan (same as the 512MB) it was a hard choice between that and the X1900XT but people saying that the X1900XT had a loud fan put me well off. If the X1900XT had the same fan i would of got that so looks like ATi lost out there. So i ordered it 9am before the 7900 was announced however my order has been dispatched today and also noticed it's price has gone up after an hour of ordering lol. I got it pretty damn cheap but it was a OEM card but it was around 45 cheaper then the 7900GT cards and with this cooler i could reach 500MHz most cards with this cooler shipping seem to clock at 490MHz @ stock so 500MHz an't out of the question but not too sure about the memory. What's the average overclock for the memory for you guys?

Oh dear, how much did you paid for the 7800 GTX 256 OEM? I found the cheapest 7900 GT is 207 with free delivery. If you paid more than 207 then I suggest you to return for refund then get 7900 GT from Lowestonweb (http://www.lowestonweb.com/Products/DisplayInfoMain.asp?e=56897C4E-B006-4DA6-BAF5-776DB9CDB67E). :)

Having said that the extra 40 is worth it for the cooler/quieter running HSF then a small HSF with a whine noise, i have become very nosie sensitive after the 6800GE and the GlobalWin Delta oh my god that FOP38 was hell on earth i still twitch from that noise some 5 years ago!!!!. My Brother lent me the money to buy the card, all he cares about is playing Battlefield 2 which he does nearly 9 hours a day not bad for someone that doesn't live in my house, would be nice to have some time on my computer lol. I wounder what much NV's drivers have changed i will find out tomorrow :) Yeah the 7900GT is pretty impressive more so for 210 nice going NV http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

The diffrence from the 7900GT and the 7800GTX seems to be around a few fps to the 7900GT. I an't going to loose sleap over that, just so long as hearing is still good :)

I an't too much of a FSAA/AF person i am more after HDR and pure speed.
but can't wait to test the card out when i get in late tomorrow more so as i am off this week end and have a weeks holiday put forward so i can enjoy my birthday on the 17th what a nice present :)

Well i got it after 6 hours straight of gaming the themp never goes above 57C and the 92mm fan runs so slow that you can see the blades moving. it's damn quiet, impressive. I also noticed that the Video card has a DELL label attached to the HSF.
