If the 7900GTX is going to be retailing for $400, I'm thinking its safe to say there will be a price drop on the 7800GTX, anyone hear any information about this? If the 7800GTX's are going to be falling in price by a large margin I'm just gonna go SLI with my current one, if not, I'm thinking a bump to the 7900GTX may be in order.

Well, it seems the prices aren't going to drop drastically.

If you already have a 7800GTX, seeing as both cards are DX9... if your a high res gamer, it's worth it ....otherwise pick up the 7900 for plain rawpower.

If you look around at most online etailers, pricing for older cards had already dropped in recent weeks.

For example an EVGA e-GeForce 7800GTX KO Edition can now be found for as low as $480. Dropped from $599

:)

I'm hoping that the 7800GTX will fall drastically once these new cards hit, as I'd much rather just SLI them instead of getting another single $400 card.

What's the point in getting a 7800GTX when you can get 7900GT for $300, and the performance is the same?

Because I can SLI my current 7800GTX with a second one? Why would I spend $300 to end up with a card thats going to put me on the same performance level?

Hey if your an eVGA employee I think you should hook me up on a deal for just a standard 7800GTX, as my current card is one of those eVGA 7800GTX with the Battlefield 2 bundle.
