Hey guys im new to the board but not new to reading it. You guys also helped me alot with lil problems i would have with my computer here and there and i thank you! I thought everyone seemed really cool so i said "Hey what the heel ive been reading these forums long enough."

I have a problem tho i just got my 7900GTX and my 3DMark05 score gets 6836 between 8000. My 3DMark06 score got 3324.

Now i am really upset about this i thought this card was going to get atleast 10000 on 3DMark05 My 6800GT's in SLI beat this card..

MY Specs are in my sig if anyone can tell me why its running that slow please tell me.. Maybe because i have x64 i dont know.

Thanx again!

Hi Tripz, welcome to the boards. have you tried using these drivers? 84.20

ftp://download1.nvidia.com/Windows/84.20/84.20_forceware_winxp2k_english.exe

But yes that score does seem low compared to your specs there.

I blew away my XP64 partition to do Virtuozzo testing, but those numbers do seem very low, especially considering you have everything OCed.

If your SLIed 6800s were scoring higher in XP64, then something is definitely wrong.

I'm breaking 5K in 3DM06 (barely :D) with the stuff in my sig, but I know that 3DM06 is overly biased toward dual core CPUs.

Edit: 3DM05 score is 9030. The D3D drivers are in HQ mode for all tests.

Actually, the 81.98's are faster than any thing above them.

Just think of it as a non-realtime FPS.

Your machine runs for 20 minutes, then shoots a number out over the network.

If you get a high score, it's because of your mad skillz. If you get a low score, it's because everyone else cheats.

It's not as quick-paced as most shooters, but there's just as much bickering :D

i got fx-55, 2g of ocz memory and 7900 gtx 512. My score in 3d mark was 10946 with new card but with my old 7800 gtx 256 i did 8800. I'm not really impressed. Is it a good score for this card?

That score seems about right.

That's a 20% improvement, which is pretty impressive.

Hi not to beat a dead horse to death, but 3dmark stopped being a benchmark when it stopped using actual game resembling engines. I would suggest just comparing game frames to how they ran on your other card.

that is true, however, it still uses direct x and still uses a graphics engine, and can accurately determine performance relative to other systems, i still believe it's very valid

yes but its not valid in terms of the quantative and qualative graphics a pc can run an equivelent engine. A slideshow is not a full 3d engine. It's like comparing the nvidia demo to an actual game engine. Sure its valid for comparing 3dmark performance vs 3d mark performance. But i'm sorry it has very little to do with games. It's like the old tech demo dayz on bbs's is all. I wish gamers and reviewers as a whole would stop using 3dmark. Or rather i wish 3dmark would go back to using actual future proof game engines.
