For those of you who upgraded from the Dell 2405 to the Dell 3007 is it worth the money?

Also, have you had any problem playing games with SLI on the 3007?

Thanks.

i dont think you will find very many people here who did not build their own computers....so if you post the specs of both machines it will make it easier for people to answer the quesiton

LOL, he's talking about the 24 inch widescreen monitor to the 30 inch widescreen monitor made by Dell.

OP: You'll need an AMAZING video card setup to even consider games at that resolution. This screen alone will fuel the market for quad-SLI. A dual SLI setup will not run games at the native resolution of the 3007 comfortably with the eye candy.

If only the nvidia driver would support even scaling without having to have bilinear filtering of the image, then this would be feasible. That would be such a trivial and easy feature for them to add, but they won't add it for whatever reason, which is annoying as hell.

If the nvidia driver did do as I describe, you would be able to play games in 1280x800 with optimal sharpness and clarity on this monitor.

I had the 23" Apple for gaming, it's like the 2405 from Dell. If I compare the 3007 and the Apple now, it's really worth it!

I tested some games at native res with my 256MB GTX SLI. This week I'm going to test other games with the 7900's. But I think QuadSLI isn't a must have for 2560x1600. Of course it's better, but a dual SLI does also a good job. But I have to see Oblivion and UT07... there should be a Quad solution necessary.

Or take a look at this article: http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/2560_1600_gaming_preview/
It'll be interesting to see the AA results. Do you use AA now and do you think it's needed at that res?
