Hi Guys,
I thought I'd start putting together a short personnal review of this card over the next few days, I've only been up and running on the new MoBo for a day so and hav'nt run a game yet!!!
Firstly the card itself is tiny!!!!! - sorry no pic's im too poor for a digital camera :thumbdwn: , I would say its about half the weight and 2/3rd's the length of my old 6800GT. Installation is easy as the card does'nt require a power connector, it draws a maximum of 68w so the PCIe slot 75w limited is spot on.
Moving onto temps the card idles in Windows at 52c which is pretty warm for an idle temp (the 68GT was 44c idle). running RTHDRIBL in full screen mode for 30 minutes raised the temps to 71c which I thought was pretty dam good given the stock cooler and high idle reading. This comes at a price though, the card sounds like a turbo charged hairdryer in 3D mode which for people that use speakers rather than headphones for gaming could be rather annoying. Im sure an after market cooler would resolve this issue however.
Ok so its benchmark time!!!! :D Sadly I've only got one to show you so far, its a 3D Mark 06 score of 3187 and the compare link is here: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=190926 as a comparison to this the old 68GT scores only 2300.
More to come later, I'll edit the post with updated benchies and info as I do them, let me know your thoughts and feedback though chaps.
Small update: RTHRDIBL ran atan average of 69fps in its standard windowed mode on the 68GT, on the 76GT it runs at 96fps.
Im going to run some game benchies tonight if I have time.
