What's up with the countdown on nvidia's website? 4 days 15 hours until a new gpu is coming?!? Anybody know what this is about?

Yes, this is the new Geforce 7900 GX2. This card is essentially 2 7900 GTX cards sandwiched together so you can put two of them and obtain quad-SLI. Nvidia has promised to release them to the enthusiast community as well as various OEMs. The card is really really long so you might need a new case lol.

Just punch a hole in your old case if it doesn´t fit. You get better temps this way for free as well. :D

Nvidia has actually launched the Quad-SLI during Cebit already. The GX2 is not new now.

It's weird that they say "A new GeForce GPU is coming".....

I'd bet that it's gonna be some lower end card like maybe a 7200, or an AGP version of one of the 7XXX series. It is odd they say new GPU so I don't think it's gonna be a dual 7900 as that's not a new GPU. And I seriously doubt they'd release a new high end model like 8000 or something already that just wouldn't make sense. Very strange indeed...

Well yes 2k for the whole quad sli shabang, you basically get 4 7900gtx's for 2k.

A low end card doesn't deserve a countdown IMHO. :D

Well, for most people 4 cards would be a total overkill, but for those with Apple or Dell high resolution lcd screens 4 cards would be a godsend! :)

The new release should be the 12 pipeline 256MB 7600GS AGP.

Even though a 512MB 7900GS AGP would be nice :D

That's what it is, a 7600GS.
If you "right click" on the countdown banner then click "play" it shows the 7600GS.

You're good. But 7600 still isn't exactly NEW.
What's NV has on its sleeve?

The cards are on seperate pcb's. I really dont see the need for them to be that long to be honest.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just saw in another thread about this that it's for the 7600GS
