That PNY 6800 GS clocked 350/1000, it cost $189.
After found something similar, your deal wasnt good, I found very good $149 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1784238&Tab=2&NoMapp=0) deal for EVGA 6800 GS CO SE clocked 450/1050 but it is PCI Express. If you got a PCI Express x16 slot then that no problem.
cant do PCI express..only AGP
What about this?
My x1600 Sapphire had major problems and it is known to have problems..but what about DIAMOND?

and is it also worth the money getitng the GS even though its 50$ more than the x1600. Even with the issues the GS has

I think you will be better with that PNY 6800 GS, it much faster than Radeon X1600. :)
Hmm Ok. I am just kind of leery since alot of people have problems with them in combination with the Nforce3 boards . which is what i have.

Ah I see, yes that correct Nvidia cards didnt mixed with ATI chipset motherboards very well as ATI cards with nForce chipset motherboards too.
So you think ill have problems with it on my gigabyte nforce3 board with the GS?

No you wont have problem with Geforce 6800 GS on nForce3 board because both GPU and MPU are designed by Nvidia, not one of them are ATI. :)

Well it been known that nForce3 has bugs and here is a workaround to the bugs by update the motherboard BIOS. I really think it for the best to stick on my recommendation to buy PCI Express EVGA 6800 GS for $149 as well as new nForce4 PCI Express motherboard for about $70 then sell both your Sapphire X1600 card and Gigabyte nForce3 motherboard on ebay, you will make about $150 if you want to avoid nForce3 iffy hassles.
I have updated the BIOS to version 18. I have a gigabyte K8NS.
hope that helps any problems i might have hehe^^ thanks for your help ill post on this when i get my card
