I've heard great things about the Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse, but I am also looking for a new keyboard. I would like it to be either wireless or USB, but all the wireless keyboards come with crappy optical mice. So anyone use the Logitech Elite keyboard? And you think it would make a good combo together? Thanks.

I use the corless Logitech elite keyboard and I really like it. It's got lots of nice features like a scroll wheel, audio controls(volume, play, next, etc..) and a good number of shortcut buttons. It also matches my black and silver look very well. The elite would go great with an MX700. It's really too bad they don't sell the wireless elite seperatly.

Could you use the MX700s base with the wireless Elite keyboard?

Can you purchase just the cordless elite keyboard? Or do you have to buy the mouse too?

I beleive it is only the duo that is cordless, you can go on ebay and look around if you want. Or pricewatch or pricegrabber.com . I'm sure you'd be able to find something to suit your needs:D

So you have the keyboard and the mouse on sepearte channels using the MX700 base?

Yup. I ain't using the mouse that came with the duo, so I have they keyboard on channel one, and the base for the MX700 working channel 2. Just don't connect the mouse connector for the keyboard receiver and plug the MX700 connector into the USB port and it works fine ;)

So are you using the mx700's base and a seperate base that came with the duo for the keyboard?

have you tried just using the keyboard with the mx700's base? with the mouse on one channel and the keyboard on the other? Or does the other receiver only work with two devices cause it plugs into two ports?

The base only works for one device, it only has one connector and that if for the mouse ;) I'm sure you could connect the MX700 to the keyboard receiver, but then you would'nt be able to recharge it, and you wouldn't have a place to put it. The best way is just to use both the keyboard receiver and the MX700 base.

Then why did you say you were using the one base with both before?
Thank god I didn't listen to you and buy the duo set. Do you get any conflicts using both bases. Do you have to put them far apart from each other?

heh, I never said I was using both on one base before. Maybe you misread, or didn't understand, but I never posted that lol. I get no conflicts whatsoever from having 2 bases. Umm... I have the keyboard one right under my case and it works fine, I have the MX700 base about 8 inches away;)
EDIT: ROFLMAO! Yes, I just found what you meant. Looks like I didn't read your post right lol, Sorry about that:angel:

Heh, well, looks like I'll get the corded Elite. I wish you could use it with the MX700 base though, would be kickass...
