I take it it's Monday in Germany? Here's the first review to hit the internet:
http://www.tecchannel.de/hardware/1109/
First results of using 4X FSAA. I have to tell ya. The results of 4X FSAA is very dissapointing. Will only know more tommorrow when the others are released. But if that is any indication of the GeForce FX's performance when using 4X FSAA. It's going to be a hard sell...

Its still Sunday there, only in parts of Asia and whole of Oceana is it Monday now.
With that said....I hope this review isn't a sign of things to come....man I hope not. Not a very bright picture for a flagship product.

No... Go out and get that $285 9700 pro. :) I will just have to sit on mine till summer I guess.
Geeze people, your ready to pass judgement on the first driver set  Maybe someone should compare the resualts with the 9700s first set of drivers? Anyone remember the GF3s first set of drivers?? :p
actually nvidia has had about 4 months tuning these drivers... thats why they havent released any benchies, the worked overtime tuning the drivers, so the fx would show the smallest advantage in most games
volt: We just had a discussion with someone who knows more about this than we do. He said that the benchmarks won't come until 9:00am tomorrow (Monday). I don't know what time zone he was referring to though.
<@volt> Laxlunch: so the benchmarks will come tomorrow correct?
<@Laxlunch> volt they are already correct, they wont change them. but as it was to early to make those benchmakrs public, they claim now that they "are currently wokring on the review"
<@Laxlunch> but the review is complete, probably they will still add the image quality review
So there you go. This is coming from the front line, and it all points to Monday for reviews :)
could still be monday in germany... i dunno, but i have heard form various people that www.techchannel.de is a very legit site.

you assume that ati is done with their drivers...maybe, just maybe, they might be able to pull off another radeon 8500 driver improvement on the 9700...their development team once stated that their hardware was only being run at 65% efficiency due to driver issues
ATI LoVeR 9700

Wow, I really expected more, alot more. Maybe the Anisotropic Filtering will save it, who knows. Wasn't nVidia suppose to use that 3DFX technology for free AA?
What matters is AA + Anisotropic Filtering, I'm not passing a judgement yet. But lets not forget that ATi's AA should look better and ATi has up to 16x Aniso...

Nvidia can not loose this next round to ATi with the NV35. I totally believe that Nvidia has to even speed up the launch of the NV35 to gain momentum back but I don't see that happening.Uhhhh... why not? The move to .13 has been made, the move to DDR2 has been made, the move to a 12-layer PCB has been made. It won't be long (I'm guessing August at the latest for NV35).One more thing, why hadn't these guys run the Doom 3 Alpha for a comparison?Go do a search for posts by me about Doom 3.
THAT'S why they're not using the Doom3 alpha.

Read again what I said, and not what I didnt say ;) I never said that the 9700 drivers would not improve, what I said is that you cant expect a realy good comparison just yet, I wouls expect to see a vast improvement within 3 months of the card hitting retail.
Also as a side note, for me what I would like to see would be 2X FSAA + 4/8x aniso @1280*1024 as I find this to be a very nice setting on a 19" monitor. I do not like playing any of my games @ 1024, even with 4xFSAA, 2X@1280 looks much better IMO.

Umm...So If i did me calculations right 9:00AM CET time Monday morning is 3:00PM Sunday for the people on the Pacific and 6:00PM For the people on the east.
this is very bad for nvidia...ati is soon to have a new product that is probably faster than the fx... after seeing these numbers, alot of people are likley to wait for ati's next card.

Well, if Nvidia stick with the current pricing than I am getting an ATI card.
I guess will see some other benchmarks next week, but so far ... very , very sad, I guess teh marketing people have gone way ahead of what the engineers have designed.

Yeah, but that's still a 128-bit bus PCB. They need a new board for NV35.

12 layer PCB is bad becouse complexity increase and it only on 128 bit bus  (harder to make bigger cost)
look at R300 only 8 layer and with 256 bit bus ;)
I to hope NV35 will be with 256 bit bus :p

Assuming that the NV35 uses a 256-but bus ;)

Those who wanted the price of ATi 9700Pro cards to drop even further may be disappointed with the results, too. What reason is there now for 9700Pro prices to drop? It's currently cheaper than $399 and provides nearly equal or faster performance than the GFX Ultra.
I already have a 9700Pro for quite sometime now but....there are still those who don't, waiting for the prices to drop.
I don't understand why ATI fans are so happy. Why wouldn't you want the newest card to perform well? Why would you want a company to fail? I wont get this card because it's perfromance doesnt justify the price. (so far) Just get the best card and grow up.

Well, we see why the FX was redesigned for 8 pipelines instead of 6.
I hope the other reviewers will post 8x+ AF, 4x+ AA comparisons for both cards in other games. Many people want to see raw FPS numbers, but consistent and playble FPS with maximum eye candy turned on will pave the way for the future. Lets hope the FX in GFFX lives up to that claim.
It may also take DX9 enabled game testing suites to show the potential of the GFFX later but for now, the 9700 does look like a great deal to consumers.
Comparing GFFX-Radeon 9700pro with 4x fsaa is not so fare IQ wise.
Anyway if the benchmarks are correct spending 250euros more than radeon 9700 to buy a GFFX in not logical.
Radeon 9700 is faster in UT2003 default settings and faster with 4xfsaa on quake.
I have no doupt that GFFX are going to get better with new drivers but r350 is coming and its going to be very hard to beat even with nvidias miracle drivers.
