I wonder if these include the improvements for Oblivion. I'll try em out.
Once again, no x64 drivers :P
Shame on NVIDIA

yeh I laughed when I read that too, still general fixes are better than no fixes at all!!!!
Plus there havebeen some issues with 79, 76 cards and the previous drivers so I hope this set helps.

Trying them out. Framerates in large grassy areas seem much better with these. No issues so far.

They released the 84.21 x64 today so it seems that we have to wait until they release a new beta driver, maybe we'll have 84.25 x64 at that time !! :(

Not even that. The 84.21 x64 were leaked, not released, as they are not available for download on nvidia's or nzone's sites.

HL2 rendering bugs fixed?
NOT fixed. I honestly can't believe NVIDIA. It's not like the Source engine is some obscure engine that nobody uses! I can't believe they'd screw this up and then refuse to fix it!

it has the same problem as 84.20 with profiles
How can one back up there game profiles in the drivers ?

I wonder if they even know it's broken? I'd like to know how their testers missed that in a release driver and then it's still not fixed in the next beta....

Just save the c:\windows\system32\nvapps.xml file before uinstalling/installing the drivers.
I've only tried Oblivion so far and with it they improved performance a little, maybe a few fps. I haven't tried anything else yet.

Take a look at the start of the stress test. Occurs in game too but this is the easiest way to see it.
Just save the c:\windows\system32\nvapps.xml file before uinstalling/installing the drivers.
Be aware that that's where nVidia keeps all their application profiles (meaning not just the ones you made), it's probably not wise to blindly copy it over the new one.
