Got a single Sata hdd running WinXP on a NF4 Mobo. Thinking of going RAID so I enabled the NVRAID in Bios. I rebooted and went to see what it looked like, didn't do or save anything and exited.
The machine came up but wouldn't recognise the drive, got a NTDLR error.
Disabled NVRAID and set hdd back to bootable master and still it would not boot.
Did I need to set the NVRAID device as the first boot device?

Have I killed it?

I don't think you killed the drive, but you will have to repair Windows or format to get it to work again. If NTLDR is missing it means the drive can't find it. Reinstalling windows should fix it. It happened to me once before, reinstalling fixed everything.
