I've been looking at workstation graphics cards lately and I noticed most of them seem old and outdated. What I want to know is will a 7900gtx 512mb outperform a Wildcat Realizm 500 in 3ds Max/Maya.

Umm, from what ive heard the realizm card is a MUCH better workstation card... and have you looked at the quadro series?

Yea I looked into them but the 3dlabs seems to be a better card from the reviews I've looked at. The higher end quadros are out of my pricerange. What I want to know is how would the top of the line geforce do against a lower end quadro/3dlabs in workstation apps.

Where can I find details on how to softmod a 7900gtx to a Quadro; and how complete is the softmod in replicating the capabilities of the Quadro 4500. Thx.

The realizm is a ridiculously powerful card and more suited for workstation usage.

The 7900gtx has a lot of horsepower for all kinds of apps.

Depends on what you are needing for the product to do for you, and in which apps.
