i've recently had to install the .netframework v1.1 due to Sony Vegas, and it prompts me to log in everytime now, even though i'm the only user, and i have no password, all i have to do is press enter, but it's an annoyance and some of my friends have gotten their systems with v1.1 to just log in like it does with v1.0, how do i do this? they are clueless and can't remember how they did it

Download the TweakUI XP Powertoy from Microsoft. I forget where it is located, but there is an option for Autologin hidden somewhere in one of the lower options. Set that to your user and password and your set!

If you get all the patches for the .net framework from windows update this will stop happening.
OR you can just go to the control panel then user accounts and delete the .net framework account.

thank you very much for your help once again, i think i figured it out this time.... i had the user settings set to "no welcome screen" and once i turned that one and "fast user switching" it worked fine and logs me in every time.... very obscure but i'm glad it's fixed
