bridgeless SLI ?

I am getting an Asus A8N SLI with lost SLI bridge connector. What is the situation with the bridgeless SLI ? possible ? any performance difference with bridge connection ? (intended cards 6800 GT)

It will work, but you lose performance. I recommend to try to find a replacement.

I see, so its hardware SLI vs software afterall. Will it work with 6800GT + 6800 vanila/LE/GS/GT/Ultra ?

No you need the same cards, 6800gt x 2 or 6800 ultra x 2.
A 6800 vanilla has pipes/vertex's locked.
