Geforce 3 Ti200 on a Duron 1.1GHz cant keep 60 fps in Team Fortress Classic or any half life game for that matter. This is even after a fresh reinstall of windows, latest drivers etc.

Only culprit I am looking at is the VIA chipset on the motherboard :thumbdwn:

I have googled the situation and found a few similar gripes with the 3 series and half-life perforance, where geforce 2 cards were doing better, etc.

Any thoughts..?

Actually, some of the higher end GF2's are just better cards than the Ti200. The GF3's had a gay numbering scheme. Your card is the lowest of the series, then the GF3 that was initially introduced, then the GF3 Ti500.

I would think those specs would be able to push TFC, though...hmm... how much memory are you running with?

Well, the GF3 series has some things going for it such as pixel shaders, whereas the GF2 does not. Anyways, you can probably overclock the Ti200 a fair bit, I took my old Asus Ti200 from the stock 175/400 to 260/555 making it somewhat faster than a Ti500, but that would probably vary from card to card.

I would try other vid card drivers.

Use only v44.03 drivers for up to GF4-Ti series cards... also, is your system only showing AGP2X for your video card? I used to run a P3/1Ghz system in a motherboard that had the VIA chipset along with a gf3ti200 card, unforunately, the chipset was the 133A version. No mater what VIA driver i used, it would not do AGP4X using WinXP, only in Win98. If it shows AGP2X, you will have to use RIVATUNER to force the AGP4X... thats if your having that problem. If not, im not sure what else it could be...

thats odd, i get about the same FPS in TFC with a Pentium III 933, 160mb PC 100, and a GF2 MX200

new via hyperions work fine with the kt/km133/a chipset, really... Also, to my knowledge, even the 66 series drivers worked great with a gf3... I wouldn't be scared to try teh 90 series...

How about vsync? Do you have that turned off?

Get coolbits2 runnin on that gf3, you can feel the increase when you oC a ti200...
