i am having a problem with getting my card to show as AGP. right now it's running as PCI because everytime i install the GART drivers i get a black screen after the windows xp start up screen. i've looked around trying to find the same problem and have had no luck, so please if someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. i'm kind of new to this, but i catch on pretty quick.
my gear:
ASUS A7N266-C mobo
XFX GeForce 6600 256mb
400w PSU
i am using the latest nvidia display(84.21) and nforce drivers(5.10) for my gear.
Did you set it to AGP in your BIOS? It's probably at it's default setting which is PCI.

unfortunately i searched all through the bios and didn't see an option like that. i did get a chance to try a fx5200 agp card on my system and that one seems to work fine and shows up as AGP. is there anything else i can try?

how about you do this.... benchmark it, and if it's running at about the normal speeds of any other 6600, don't worry about it, chances are it will proably run just as fast as a "normal" agp one, it's probably just reporting it wrong

k, i'll try some benchmark on it and see what i get. the thing is i have no GART drivers installed in order to use the card. aren't gart drivers important in agp preformance and could explain why it's not reading as agp?

pretty much the mobo sucks. time to upgrade or deal with an agp card running as pci. :/
