Probably since EA is only the retail publisher, Think they did the same thing with other Valve titles aswell.

Valve sends along a press release announcing that the first SiN Episodes episode, Emergence, will be heading to retail stores courtesy of Electronic Arts. Ritual Entertainment's Source engine powered project (which will also be available through Steam), will cost $19.99 when it ships May 9 in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.

I just heard today about it and already purchased it, i have to admit i bought it mainly cuase i wanted to play sin 1, that was an awsome game and i think was one of the first games i played and finished when i got my first computer wich was a crappy dell 500mega hertz and 128 or ram, those were the days.(nana2)

this is sin episode 1 sin 1 source and sin mp. Thats why its now 19.99. If thats to much money for you i think your crazy, no offense. But sin 1 to me is worth 19 alone, not to mention sin episode 1 and sin mp heh.

Ok let's see....that's 9 episodes at ~5 hours each for $19.99 an episode
Hmm.. $180 for ~45 hours of game play. Most FPSers get really drawn out at the 20hour mark...SIN might be alittle much. Even if it is tolerable for 45 hours...at $180 its way over the top expensive.
I'm taking a pass for now on SIN.....

Just finsihed playing some sin 1 and its still alot of fun and it doesnt look that bad for a game that uses the quake 2 engine, sin still holds up to this day in gameplay and also think half life over shadowed this game which i think is and was on par with it, if not better than hl only thing that messed this game up was a few bugs and ****ty timing

if I buy retail, can I buypass all this steam stuff? As in the retail version from EA 100% independednt from steam?

Or would i still have to load and register through steam?

??? Sin 1 source ??? Is the Sin 1 game modified in some way to look better or is this just the original Sin game. I don't see any mention of "Sin 1 source" on their web site.

I think you would still have to register through steam.

Also the version of Sin is just the same old version as before, it has sound fixes, resolution fixes and apparently they have included little things relating to sin episodes (like a picture of jessica etc).

I just purchased it, waiting on dowload (nana2)

Cant wait man - im a HUGE siN fan, and to be able to play the original game in high res while we wait for episode one is so cool.

I'll be getting this today for sure.

EDIT: lol I need something to break my Oblivion addiction.

Heh, will Sin also make me puke, like how HL2 did? (although oddly, CS:S doesn't)? Will it be stuttery like HL2? or buggy like Vampires?

Even so, I Still have to register with Steam? I'll pass then. I refuse to be bound to Steam.

ALl games retail or not will require steam but hl2 stutter is long gone for me now so i hope sin will be the same.

Yeah, because we're getting a 45 hour FPS that costs 180 dollars on may 9th. They already said that they were going to introduce new gameplay features in future episodes and upgrade the graphics.

They should release Sin 1 Source two weeks before Sin Episode 1 for those who bought the package, just to get people into the mood.

33% to go..........all I wanna do is play some original siN!!!!!

apparently the siN:Source release is put back until after Episode One comes out but they still want to do it.
