When i get a new computer with the Radeon 9700 pro card, which drivers are best Catalyst 2.5 or 3.0?

I heard some reports of stuttering and stability issues with Catalyst 3.0 drivers.

Has ATI fixed the issues with the Catalyst 3.0 {open gl stuttering in quake 3 and jedi knight 2} ?

Get the latest Catalyst from ATI (3.0a, 1/10/2003). This driver works like a charm and no sign of stuttering or what-so-ever. Anyway OpenGL driver is relatively slow on low to medium resolutions (relatively slow = gf4 can beat the speed at 1024*768*32 or lower) but it's only the matter of optimization. You'll be still getting over 200fps on most of the games so it shouldn't be a problem :retard:

The Catalyst 3.0a drivers are working superbly for me. Absolutely no stuttering in OpenGL or RalliSport Challenge. ATI still has some room to grow in its OpenGL support (compared to NVIDIA), but it's 1000% better than it was even 6 months ago.

If those drivers don't do well for you, you may want to try Omega's drivers www.omegacorner.com - those drivers are the defacto ones to use if you have problems with the official ones from ATI.

The 3.0a drivers work great for me. Get those.
