Is it possible to use nVidia Forceware drivers from Windows Vista x64 on Windows XP x64 Professiol Edition. Being said, their both x64 operating systems. I'm currently running BFG 7900 GTX OC in SLI mode. I had to revert back to Windows XP Professional 32-Bit due to nVidia's lack of valid driver support for Windows XP x64 Professional when using a 7900 series card.

No, the infrastructure is different.
Would be no different than trying to run XP drivers on Windows 98.

You can use XP drivers in Vista (only way to have a control panel)

You CAN"T use Vista drivers in XP, they are completely dfferent.
Vista has build in .NET and Aero effects etc, that XP lacks.

I have many 64bit XP drivers to choose from, see sig for link.

None of them oficially released by NVidia.

NVidia's 64bit support sucks right now, close to ATI's linux support (no official 7900 support in 64bit for NVidia, no official X1xxx series support in linux for ATI).

That's not true. Go to the nvidia site and you will see several 64 bit drivers released with whql.

Where did the information come from that there was no official 64 bit drivers?

This lack of 64bit support or linux support only applies to the OTher video card manufacturer

official driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_81.98.html

good un official driver is: 84.21 64-bit

Most humbly apologize. Missed that part....

..busy fighting my own battle on the 7800gtx side. I did get the 7900gtx working on the 84.21.... with some effort.

I'm using 84.21 as well... but the point is that it wasn't nvidia that released 84.21 for x64... I had to get them from station-drivers.
The fact that to use my card I'm forced to used leaked drivers makes me mad (pirate) :thumbdwn:

My Nero Showtime issues had me revert back to x86 windows xp. It would crash during H.264 playback.
